The emotional and economic bond with the aggressor: a psychological approach in the interaction with the victim.
Abstract
The study addresses the problem of domestic violence in current democratic societies. A mixed research methodology was used with inductive-deductive, exegetical, dogmatic and empirical approaches. The results of a survey revealed the emotional and economic dependence of the victims. Factors that contribute to the evolution of these behaviors were identified, generating conflicts in victims when seeking legal help. Lack of awareness about the cycle of abuse, especially in women, and the normalization of violence in society make it difficult to overcome the situation. The judicial system, by itself, is not sufficient to protect victims and address the rehabilitation of aggressors from a psychological perspective.
