Promulgation of a government policy for the supervision of the conservation of "Yahuarcocha" lake in the Ibarra canton, Ecuador.
Abstract
This research focuses on the promotion of a public policy aimed at managing the environmental aspect of the Yahuarcocha lake due to its evident deterioration caused by natural eutrophication. An exhaustive study is presented that analyzes the theoretical aspects of the transformation object with the purpose of offering practical solutions, using a mixed approach, where the problem is thoroughly investigated, with data that supports the need for a sustainable environmental management model that involves at multiple levels of government with concurrent powers. As a result, a public policy is proposed that includes specific actions to mitigate the environmental deterioration of the lake.
