Abstract

Biotechnologies and bioprocesses are fields with high potential to generate solutions: food sufficiency, the preservation of human health or the conservation and recovery of ecosystems, among others. They can also contribute to fundamental issues for the economic sector such as the energy transition or the development of bioeconomies. In this document, several of the factors that in principle would enable the development of biotechnologies and bioprocesses are identified, from the consolidation of academic and research environments in these areas, to the creation of inventions and innovation for the acceleration of technological transfers, that translate into direct benefits for societies.
