Implementation of security measures and principle of data retention according to the organic law of personal data protection in public institutions of Babahoyo, Ecuador.
Abstract
In Ecuador, it is imperative to prioritize the management of personal data and immediately improve the security of users in the face of growing threats of data leakage and the lack of effectiveness in the application of the Organic Law for the Protection of Personal Data (LOPD). The objective of this study was to analyze, evaluate and propose comprehensive information security strategies and effective conservation principles for the management of personal data in public institutions in the city of Babahoyo. As a conclusion, it highlights the need to systematically implement executive measures that allow an adequate management and treatment of citizens' personal data by the public administration.
