Abstract

Higher Education institutions are committed to educational research as a way to achieve quality education; however, in many universities, there is a lack of knowledge in this regard and research is poorly articulated with teaching and dissemination of knowledge; thus, strategic planning is essential as part of institutional evaluation and development plans. The aim is to analyze the research guidelines in the leading universities in Mexico. The initial question is: What are the trends in educational research and how are they planned for the year 2030? A flexible qualitative model, descriptive scope and a saturation sample are applied. The results point to institutional development plans with a vision for the 2030 Agenda.
