Abstract

Calculus is essential in engineering, but understanding concepts such as the limit is a challenge. This difficulty has led to high rates of failure and dropout at the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo. To address this, a didactic proposal by Aquere et al. (2009) was implemented to improve the learning of limits. A standardized test was conducted and its impact on biotechnology students was analyzed. The results indicate that there is no significant difference between the didactic strategy and the traditional teaching. However, these findings can guide less experienced teachers in their teaching practice.
