Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe the reality of reading habits, the importance of reading as a learning tool and the benefits for the mental health of students and teachers at the Uniandes Faculty of Medicine, Santo Domingo. Survey, interview and direct observation methods were used. The findings revealed that most students and teachers surveyed spend little time on the habit of reading. These results provide a valuable basis for the implementation of strategies that encourage reading and optimize learning techniques, thus promoting psychological and academic well-being in the Faculty of Medicine community.
