Reading and Writing Skills of Higher Education Students.

Abstract

Language, as part of the social system, allows communication and the transfer of information and culture through reading and writing skills. This work aims to carry out a systematic mapping of these skills in university students, and theoretically address the importance of scientific literacy and the brain structures involved in executive functions according to neuroscience. The information search was carried out in the Scopus database. It was found that research on this topic began in the 90s and that 77% of the publications are from the last decade. The United States and England lead the research with 34% of the publications, while Latin America reaches 13%.
