Lean manufacturing and its teaching: a bibliometric review.

Abstract

This article presents a bibliometric review on the teaching, education and learning of the lean manufacturing methodology in industry and higher education institutions. A search was carried out in the Scopus database and 198 documents were identified for analysis that cover the period from 1995 to 2023. The Vosviewer 1.6.18 and Bibliometrix software is used for the analysis and the results indicate that the trend in research is increasing, and that the main areas in which it is published are related to engineering and business, while the journal that publishes the most is Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering and the most productive author is Tortorella, G.
