Emotional intelligence and academic performance in education in the last decade: Systematic review
Abstract
The objective of this study was to explore the role of Emotional Intelligence (identifying, understanding, regulating, and using emotions) in learning and academic performance from childhood to adolescence during the last ten years. The methodology for its development has been a systematic review, carrying out a search following the guidelines of the PRISMA diagram, exploring the different databases (Google Scholar, Dialnet, Scopus and SciELO), selecting 25 articles, which indicated the relationship between Intelligence Emotional and Academic Performance. The results are coherent and binding regarding the complexity of emotional intelligence, due to its multidimensional nature and the need to delve into other related lines of analysis
