Transforming higher education: strategies for the effective inclusion of the Trans community in university environments.
Abstract
Recognition, respect and inclusion of gender diversity and people from the Trans community are essential in university environments, but they are not easy to achieve. Through a narrative review of the experience collected both in Latin American countries and abroad, five main areas of action were identified to achieve effective inclusion. Based on this knowledge, this work proposes a Trans Inclusive University Model (MUTI), aimed at schematizing and operationalizing the relationship between the Trans community and universities in the areas of Teaching, Research, University Facilities, Institutional Management and Research Projects Extension.
