Experiences and daily life of parents of children with cochlear implants.
Abstract
Childhood hearing loss constitutes an important, serious and irreparable health problem with consequences that can affect the development of the child and family dynamics. The objective of the research is to analyze the experiences and daily life of parents of children with cochlear implants. The methodological approach is with a qualitative, phenomenological and descriptive approach. This allows us to reveal, through in-depth interviews and the constant comparison method, the experiences lived after the process of diagnosis and treatment of children with bilateral profound hearing loss, by describing out loud from the parents' daily lives the experiences after the cochlear implant acquisition process.
