Abstract

Nomophobia is a disorder associated with anxiety or fear associated with the inability to access the cell phone. In this study, the NMPQ questionnaire was used to record the levels of nomophobia in 180 Mexican university students of information technology engineering. Two groups were compared. The first group consisted of students in the first six terms and the second group consisted of students in the last terms. Higher levels of nomophobia were found in students in the first terms regarding the total score and the factors of inability to communicate and loss of connection. The need to train, guide and raise awareness among students, as well as to provide them with timely psychological and educational support, is highlighted
