Incidence of anxiety in university students in the economic-administrative area: an exploratory analysis
Abstract
The objective of the research was to explore and analyze the incidence on the levels of State-Anxiety and Trait-Anxiety in university students enrolled in courses in the economic-administrative area at a public university in Mexico. It is a cross-sectional study, with a quantitative method. The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (IDARE) was applied, the levels of State-Anxiety and Trait Anxiety were evaluated in a random sample. The results showed that in general, anxiety levels are in a medium range, with a significant correlation between State-Anxiety and Trait-Anxiety. Differences were observed according to age, career, and gender. These findings highlight the importance of interventions aimed at mitigating anxiety and improving student well-being in this university context
