Lifestyle and its relationship with image distortion and Body Mass Index in college students.

Abstract

Based on the objective: To determine the lifestyle and its relationship with image distortion and Body Mass Index in university students, a quantitative and correlational study was carried out. The sample consisted of 201 students, the Fantástico instrument and the Silhouette Model were applied; descriptive and correlational analysis was used. The results showed that BMI was negatively and inversely related to lifestyle and significantly positively related to body image distortion. There was no relationship between lifestyle and body image distortion. There was a relationship between BMI and the nutrition dimension, and the nutrition dimension with weight. There was also a relationship between the tobacco dimension and age. There was also a relationship between distortion and the nutrition dimension.
