Abstract

The objective is to identify urban green spaces in Puerto Vallarta using the Geographic Information System (GIS). For this purpose, their availability and size were measured to obtain a more comprehensive and updated diagnosis of the situation. The analysis of urban green spaces in Puerto Vallarta is conducted through: a) the classification of urban green spaces, b) the dimension of the studied areas, and c) the total availability. The 2020 census data were used. A total of 231 places were found, of which 179 are parks. The analysis also reveals an exclusive distribution of urban green spaces in the range of 0.01 to 2 hectares (ha) and an availability of 0.21 square meters per inhabitant.
