The Chocolate festival: resilience during the COVID-19 crisis
Abstract
The article presents an approach to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on exhibiting companies at the Chocolate Festival, held in Tabasco, Mexico. The research method follows a cross-sectional qualitative approach on the opinions and experiences of nineteen participants. The results provide the identification of the direction and organizational structure of the businesses, as well as the understanding of benefits and expectations perceived by holding the festival. Problems faced by this sector during the critical phase of the pandemic are detailed. The main finding of the study consists of the identification of organizational resilience strategies implemented by companies, recognizing the capacity for adaptation, being a reference for political and economic decision-making in public and private spheres
