The difficult access of women to justice in cases of violence.
Abstract
Although almost 50 years have passed since the 1975 World Women's Conference in Mexico, violence against women persists, in part due to entrenched sexist attitudes. Women face various types of violence, such as physical, psychological, economic, sexual, and labor violence, but access to justice is complicated due to bureaucracy and the lack of sensitivity of those who apply the law. This article highlights the risk factors of gender violence and points out how the lack of education, culture, resources, and professionalism in the judicial system discourages women from reporting. Addressing these barriers is crucial to ensure effective and fair access to justice.
