Abstract

The theoretical analysis that makes up this study highlights the effectiveness of jurisdictional guarantees in the protection of animal rights in Ecuador; pioneer country in the recognition of the rights of nature since its constitution in 2008. The research was based on a qualitative approach and exhaustive documentary review that covered books, scientific articles, legislation, and official documents. Inductive-deductive, analysis-synthesis and exegetical methods were used to unravel and reflect on this complex topic. Through the analysis of various sentences, the recourse to jurisdictional guarantees to safeguard the rights of animals was evident, which suggests the relevance of activating constitutional justice as a fundamental protection mechanism for these beings.
