Abstract

This analysis approaches international migration from a security perspective, considering the regulation of the entry of people with and without criminal records. The focus on human security allows understanding both migrants and receiving communities, exploring their complexities. The research identifies the lack of protection laws for Ecuadorian citizens in the face of the migratory flow, pointing out their vulnerability to violence and crime. Although migrants have legal protection in Ecuador through immigration and naturalization laws, the need for stronger policies is evident. The research seeks to expose the challenges Ecuador faces in the face of unregulated migration, identifying legal loopholes and their impacts.
