Abstract

People with a resilient personality tend to cope with stress effectively; However, even people with a resilient personality can be affected by burnout syndrome. The objective of the work was to determine the relationship between resistant personality and burnout syndrome in nursing professionals. It was a descriptive correlational design with a sample made up of 88 nursing professionals from a tertiary public hospital. The results reported a high resistant personality with 54.5% and low burnout syndrome with 64% and a negative correlation was observed (p < .05). Having a resilient personality is beneficial in reducing burnout syndrome due to the intrinsic psychological characteristics of resilient people.
