Social, environmental and economic impacts derived from the migrations of the Raccoon (Procyon Lotor). Case study in the southern area of the state of Tamaulipas.
Abstract
The general objective of this research is to identify the citizen perception of the sustainable management (economic, social and environmental) of the Raccoon (Procyon Lotor) in the southern zone (Tampico, Madero and Altamira) of the state of Tamaulipas, in order to propose an institutional route for the protection of the species and the promotion of public health. Surveys consisting of 17 questions were prepared and entered into Excel sheets for data analysis through graphs and tables, an in-depth interview with the ISSSTE health sector that gives a reference to the impacts suffered in the area, as well as PROFEPA where it determines its position on the species as part of its obligation.
