Abstract

The main objective of this research was to establish environmental regulations, both constitutional and infraconstitutional, and evaluate the rulings issued by the Constitutional Courts of other countries on environmental matters. In the study, socio-environmental problems were described that could arise due to human pressure on the Anzu River, located in the provinces of Pastaza and Napo, as a result of the development of local economic and extractive projects. The research approach was mixed, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, and included the use of historical, exegetical and bibliographic methods. The results revealed the need to establish specific measures from the community, with the support of governmental and non-governmental institutions, to preserve, protect and recover the water resource of the Anzu River.
