Reliability and psychometric validity of the instrument Sustainable Lifestyles in university students.
Abstract
The objective of this research is to design and analyze the reliability and psychometric validity of an instrument that measures the sustainable lifestyle of university students. An instrument was built, and its reliability was measured through the Exploratory Factor Analysis where 1304 university students participated. The results show adequate reliability with high Cronbach's alpha values for all the variables that make up the sustainable lifestyle (Leisure, 851; Food ,780; Mobility, 768; Consumer goods, 876; Housing, 786; and Sustainable Lifestyle Index, 935). The instrument is a pioneer in the quantitative measurement of sustainable lifestyle, and is also useful and viable for the reliable, rigorous and objective evaluation of the five elements that make it up.
