Predictive factors of school violence in adolescents: a psychosocial perspective.
Abstract
The study analyzes the relationship between school violence and individual, family, and school variables in adolescents from Puerto Vallarta. The sample included 1,687 adolescents aged 12 to 17. The results show that adolescents with low school violence have higher levels of life satisfaction, self-concept, family functionality, and school support. In contrast, adolescents with high school violence exhibit greater psychological distress. The predictors of school violence include psychological distress, family and academic self-concept, school affiliation, and teacher support. The study suggests the need for intervention programs that consider multiple individual, family, and school factors to reduce school violence.
