Inclusive policies and strategies for students with disabilities at university: an institutional analysis.
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze the initiatives implemented at a public university to support the academic trajectories of students with disabilities, with the goal of identifying strengths and areas for improvement that contribute to the development of inclusive environments. A descriptive-interpretative research approach was employed, utilizing documentary analysis of official documents, which were cross-referenced with supplementary information. The study identified various barriers affecting students with disabilities, as well as the different measures taken to address these challenges. The findings suggest that while there are ongoing efforts to promote inclusion in higher education, significant challenges remain that necessitate concrete actions to ensure equitable and accessible education for all. Finally, the paper proposes the incorporation of an intersectional approach and the consideration of invisible disabilities.
