Child labour as an expression of non-compliance with children's rights.

Abstract

In Ecuador, the situation of children and adolescents is a reflection of the complex interactions between social, economic and cultural factors. This research has been developed in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas and aims to explore the different facets of child labor as a violation of children's rights, analyzing the underlying causes and the impact on their lives. It was developed under a qualitative approach, with a descriptive scope. The interview was used as a method of data collection. It is concluded that Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas faces significant problems of child labor, especially in sectors of the informal economy. Children who work are exploited and deprived of their education and development.
