Improvement perspectives for the Ecuadorian adoption system.
Abstract
The adoption process in Ecuador has faced obstacles that have limited children and adolescents' access to a safe family environment. Finally, this research has analyzed the legal and administrative framework, identifying deficiencies in implementation, such as the slowness of procedures and the lack of training of operators. It has been shown that long waiting times have affected the well-being of children in adoption situations. In conclusion, the priority of reforming the system is determined to guarantee a more agile and secure process. Even that the best interests of the child are respected and the right to a family and comprehensive development are promoted.
