Comparative analysis of domestic violence in Latin America: a systematic review of its socio legal dimension.
Abstract
Research on domestic violence has evolved, initially highlighting violence against women in the family setting. However, recent studies reveal the need for a comprehensive approach that addresses various manifestations of this phenomenon. In Latin America , this trend is reflected in publications of the last five years, which include systematic reviews with a holistic approach. The research, based on 31 relevant articles, points out that intimate partner violence remains central, but new themes eme rge such as violence towards adolescents, older adults, and LGBTQ+ communities. The findings underscore the urgency of multifaceted and multidisciplinary interventions involving the community, institutions, and the state to mitigate the impacts of domestic violence and promote a safe and equitable environment.
