Governmental strategies for the protection of children and adolescents in transit through forced migration without accompaniment or separated from their families.
Abstract
This research highlights the urgent need to formulate specific public policies for unaccompanied children and adolescents in transit due to forced migration in the province of Carchi. Through an exhaustive diagnosis, serious transgressions to constitutional rights and guarantees were identified, evidencing the lack of adequate policies. The research, using a mixed methodological approach, proposes viable solutions to prevent the violation of the rights of these minors, highlighting the need for immediate intervention. In addition, it offers a concrete proposal to develop public policies to ensure their protection, inclusion, and welfare in Ecuador, guaranteeing access to fundamental rights such as education, health and social security.
