The Restrepo case and the violation of human rights

Abstract

In Ecuador, one of the most notorious cases of human rights violations was the collateral damage caused by the forced disappearance of the Restrepo brothers. For the analysis, a bibliographic study of different materials was carried out, including judicial resolutions issued by various entities, so the study is predominantly qualitative and exploratory. A survey was conducted on a random sample of citizens from the community, which shows the existence of human rights violations on several occasions during some governments and the lack of action by the State against members of the public forces involved in these events. The Restrepo case is an example of this
