Present and future of the teacher in the university of the knowledge society.
Abstract
This article reviews the Spanish university of the 21st century and the role of the professor in today's society. To do so, it takes as its starting point the beginning of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and the role of Spain in this process. In addition, it sets out the challenges facing university institutions in our time, including the professionalization of university professors. Finally, it analyses the future challenges of university professors in this century in their teaching dimension. Specifically, it deals with the importance of improving work by competencies, professional training, the development of teaching innovation, and the role of evaluation in the teaching-learning process.
