Abstract

The study analyzed and evaluated the effectiveness of the public policies of the Ministry of Education of Ecuador in the educational inclusion of students with disabilities in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. A qualitative-quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was used during the Costa 2023 school year. Interviews and surveys were conducted with teachers, administrative staff, and families. The results indicated a lack of knowledge about scholarships for students with disabilities and the inadequacy of the attention provided by the District Inclusion Support Units, which limits educational equity. It was suggested to improve the dissemination of available resources and strengthen teacher training to implement effective curricular adaptations, thus guaranteeing the right to education of this vulnerable group. It was proposed to develop monitoring mechanisms to continuously evaluate the effectiveness of these policies.
