Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to reflect on the political challenges facing Physical Education in Chile based on the contributions of Freire and Arendt. This pedagogical discipline in its international trajectory has had a plurality of epistemological perspectives. In recent years in Chile, some debates have been generated around health and motricity where different perspectives are confronted, which have not necessarily been conceived from a plurality perspective and reflects a political conflict around the discipline and its expressions in curricular documents. Therefore, understanding dialogue as a fundamental political component, it is considered pertinent that at a national level democratic spaces for conversation and debate are generated to contribute to the development of curricular proposals representative of the collectivities that are part of Chilean Physical Education.
