Case analysis: implementation of operant conditioning in a Dutch belier rabbit to facilitate its adaptation to the home.
Abstract
This study focuses on the collection of qualitative data on operant conditioning with positive reinforcement, aimed at improving the adaptation and behavior of a Dutch Belier rabbit. The efficacy of the results was evaluated one year after a four-week training period, seeking to establish stable cohabitation in the home. The methodology was a case study with a qualitative approach, divided into three stages: integration to the new environment, continuous adaptation and follow-up. During the process, the rabbit showed positive changes in its behavior, exploration and socialization, especially with a child, which evidenced the effectiveness of operant conditioning in domestic cohabitation.
