Challenges and opportunities for leaders in VUCA environments: a review of the literature.

Abstract

This study analyzes the challenges and opportunities faced by leaders in changing environments. Through a descriptive research, key competencies such as resilience, agility, emotional intelligence and knowledge management were identified, the results of a survey suggest that leaders with these skills are better prepared to adapt to change and manage uncertainty. Compared to previous studies, the importance of strategies such as innovation and a flexible organizational culture is confirmed. However, there are differences in the reliance on data analysis, highlighting the reliance on intuition. The study also highlights the need to investigate how different industries handle these challenges.
