Implementing business intelligence (BI) tools in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) involves a number of advantages and limitations. The approach of this research was qualitative and the methodology exploratory. The data collection techniques were based on semi-structured interviews and literature review, and thematic analysis was used for data analysis. Interviews were conducted with a sample (n=7) of owners of these types of companies. One of the key findings was that BI offers advantages in various operational areas: from finance to marketing, allowing companies to maximize resources and minimize risks.
