Transgression of the right to health and lack of adequate attention in the public medical service of the patients of the Martin Icaza General Hospital.
Abstract
This study analyzes rights violations and negligence in the care of the Martín Icaza General Hospital, highlighting the need to ensure quality care and respect for patients' rights. Through a quantitative approach, patients' experiences of care, available resources and respect for their rights were evaluated. The results reveal significant deficiencies in personnel, resources and quality of service, which reinforces the perception of rights violations. Problems of doctor patient communication and insufficient post treatment follow up were also identified, underscoring the urgency of reforming hospital processes.
