Promotion of awareness and protection of working mothers during breastfeeding.
Abstract
Breastfeeding has been recognized as essential for the health of mothers and children, but its implementation in the workplace in Ecuador has faced various challenges, limiting its full exercise. Therefore, the implementation and effectiveness of the rights of breastfeeding women in the workplace in Ecuador was analyzed, in order to identify challenges and propose suggestions for improvement. To this end, a qualitative approach was used through interviews with lactating working women, by identifying structural and cultural barriers that affect the fulfillment of their rights. In conclusion, it was proven essential to strengthen the application of regulations, raise awareness of examinations and create a favorable work environment to guarantee breastfeeding.
