Legal perspectives of heteronormativity in Ecuador: adoption in a society of traditional norms.
Abstract
Throughout history, society has developed ideologies that have influenced the creation of legal, scientific, moral and ethical precepts, establishing a social balance. Among these ideologies, conservatism has left a significant mark on law and its legal context. Heteronormativity, based on gender binarism, has profoundly influenced various aspects of society, including the family, considered the fundamental cell of the social order. This exploratory-explanatory paper analyzes how this ideology has affected Family Law, particularly in the institution of adoption, where heteronormative influences are evident in the legislative approaches.
