Abstract

Insecurity in Babahoyo has increased, as organized crime is one of the main concerns of its citizens. For this reason, the study has focused on developing a comprehensive security strategy that seeks to prevent and combat organized crime in the city of Babahoyo. To achieve this objective, qualitative research was carried out through surveys and interviews with experts and citizens, by identifying factors such as unemployment and social inequality as drivers of crime, along with the disinterest of the authorities. Consequently, the priority of comprehensive actions to strengthen protection policies was emphasized, as well as citizen participation in improving security.
