Engineering students' perceptions of socio-emotional competencies.
Abstract
Currently, the development of socio-emotional competencies (SEC) is a requirement that must be taken into account in the training of engineering students; therefore, the objective of this study is to determine the perceptions of students from different engineering programs regarding the SEC competencies of engineers. This is a non-experimental, cross-sectional, quantitative study. A Likert-type questionnaire was administered to collect the necessary data. The main results show non-significant differences across the different items and also demonstrate that, in general, there is no identification with the various SECs.
