Analysis of the influence of the area of residence on Internet access: An approach based on the Chi-square test.
Abstract
The study analyzes the influence of the area of residence on Internet access using the Chi-square test to identify whether there is a significant association between these variables. The digital divide between urban and rural areas is addressed, with implications for access to information and opportunities. Data collected from the Ecuadorian government's open data platform showed greater connectivity in urban areas, which evidenced a significant disparity. The finding highlights the need to implement public policies to reduce the digital divide and promote digital inclusion in rural communities.
