Abstract

The study seeks to examine the relationship between gender and the perception of academic achievement. The research was carried out among students at the Universidad Veracruzana. The findings reveal that students define achievement as the successful attainment of goals deemed worthy of recognition, associating it primarily with academic progress and personal development. The relationship between gender and the perception of academic achievement proves to be complex, involving not only differences in performance but also the influence of gender constructions on expectations of success. Additionally, stereotypes play a significant role in shaping perceptions of achievement. To address these disparities, it is crucial to implement strategies that promote gender equity in education by encouraging diverse role models.
