Abstract

With the emergence of mobile devices, new symptoms of social isolation have appeared. Among university students, this has meant a redesign of their lifestyle, motivating a new population articulation, new forms of communication, and even changes in teaching-learning systems. The professional training model emphasizes the need to rethink the process of technological absorption. In these dynamic, mobile devices play a prominent role and have become essential tools for university students. According to Asensio Chico et al. (2018), young people dedicate an average of eight hours a day to using mobile devices, with checking their profile being the first activity upon waking. The analysis has allowed for the identification of the cause-and-effect relationship between smartphones and university students, the identification of technoaddictions, academic performance, and the self-management of their learning.
