Humanistic and dignified job perception among chambermaids in hotel organizations in Southern Tamaulipas, Mexico.
Abstract
This research is part of a larger project that analyzes tourism management as a means to promote human dignity in the workplace. The labor needs of hotel maids in the southern area of Tamaulipas are identified from a humanistic perspective, using Maslow's theory. A non-experimental, quantitative and cross-sectional methodological design was used, with non-probabilistic sampling. Data were collected using Likert-type surveys. The analysis revealed mainly negative and neutral perceptions in the five categories studied, which underlines the need to continue with the project to obtain argumentative data that enrich the understanding of the topic.
