The influence of environmental legal culture in Ecuador: Challenges and opportunities for sustainability.
Abstract
This study analyzes the environmental legal culture in Ecuador from an interdisciplinary perspective, highlighting its importance in sustainability. This culture is defined as the set of knowledge, skills and values acquired in social interaction. Although laws have advanced towards the promotion of sustainable practices, their effectiveness varies according to the social and cultural characteristics of each region. Through qualitative methods, such as documentary analysis, it is evident that a solid legal culture is key to sustainability, as long as there is community participation and effective enforcement of regulations. It is concluded that environmental education, adapted to the regional culture and interdisciplinary collaboration, is fundamental to implement effective policies and achieve sustainability.
