Abstract

The criminal justice system in Ecuador has faced multiple reforms due to globalization and the need to update its regulations. Despite these changes, there are still deficiencies that demand attention to ensure the safety of citizens and the effectiveness of justice. This paper analyzes recent legislative reforms and identifies key areas that require improvement. The study was developed using a comparative-analytical methodology, with a descriptive and critical approach. It is essential to continue with the reforms to correct the flaws in the system. An external audit of the performance of judges and prosecutors and the adoption of measures to optimize judicial processes are suggested.
