Abstract

The 2008 Constitution of Ecuador highlights the importance of guaranteeing the rights of persons with disabilities, especially their right to work, based on equity and equality. This study analyzed the fulfillment of these rights in the Autonomous Decentralized Municipal Government of Santo Domingo in 2022, through a mixed approach that included documentary analysis and analytical-synthetic methods. The findings showed normative advances, but also persistent challenges, such as stereotypes that limit their labor integration and the lack of adequate infrastructure to guarantee their mobility and performance. It was concluded that institutions must comply with regulations that ensure accessibility, job adaptations and evaluations that enhance their capabilities, promoting sustainable and effective labor inclusion.
