Abstract

Spelling is recognized for its importance in written communication, as it fosters critical thinking and improves students' academic performance through pedagogical strategies supported by the use of ICTs. The objective is to construct a systematic review of the literature on spelling teaching in the digital age. The PRISMA methodology was used to obtain scientific articles in Spanish published between 2021 and 2025 from Latin America or Spain with lines of research in ICTs and/or spelling teaching. Findings show a growing interest in the research topic, and the most widely used ICTs for this purpose are educational or dissemination platforms, gamification, search or linguistic tools, and social media.
